Treehouse is a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the opportunity gap between youth who have experienced foster care and their peers. Treehouse wanted to improve how they collect, analyze, and use data. Treehouse also needed support planning and facilitating a collective impact process to improve education outcomes for children in foster care.

BMGF is a pioneer in the use of data and information to support decision making and create positive change. 3Si has been a longtime partner in that effort.

The newly-formed Department of Children, Youth, and Families is pursuing better ways to use data and information to identify, reach, and support children, youth, and families.

The WISE consortium of community colleges, major employers, workforce investment boards, labor unions, and the Employment Security Department wanted to evaluate the effectiveness of its $10 million workforce development program.

Before it could arrive at the landmark McCleary Agreement—an historic public investment in K-12 education in Washington State—the Legislative Education Funding Task Force sought a statewide analysis of compensation for K-12 public school teachers, and a way to evaluate salary cost scenarios.

3Si is a partner in ECDataWorks, a multi-year project that brings together leading experts in the field of early childhood to help collaborating states improve the delivery and use of their early childhood data among state policymakers and practitioners.

States and school districts would benefit from a tool that allows them to estimate the cost of expanding high quality early learning programs. To be useful, the tool had to be customizable to account for state and local conditions. Users also needed a way to analyze the cost implications of implementing best practices or different models of program delivery.

WSDOT has implemented tolled and managed lanes highway and bridge projects, with several more in the planning phases. As part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements, WSDOT must conduct a thorough evaluation of the effects of these projects on environmental justice.

Kitsap County needed a long-range, systemic Community Health Improvement Plan to address public health issues. They also needed to engage stakeholders from multiple sectors—including the Navy, Tribes, businesses, and historically underrepresented communities—to develop a plan that would have lasting positive impacts.

Built on an historic railroad line, the Eastside Rail Corridor (ERC) will be more than just a trail. Expanded participation by the private sector will accelerate completion of the ERC and deliver a better trail. Local agency partners overseeing trail development needed a way to catalyze and facilitate private sector participation.

Oklahoma hired 3Si to develop a plan to build an early childhood integrated data system. This data system will better equip Oklahoma to assess, target, and improve early childhood program investments and services to meet the needs of children and families.

In exploring opportunities to support the work of the Youth Matters Network—a partnership of local youth-serving organizations working together to address pressing issues in their field—the Hawaii Community Foundation recognized that lack of data stood in the way of more strategic efforts by service providers and funders.

Georgia is conducting a statewide needs assessment and strategic plan to support increased quality of and access to early learning services in the state.  3Si was hired to answer key research questions, model program costs and benefits, facilitate strategic planning, and help refine strategic plans.

Sound Transit is in the midst of a massive expansion of light rail in the greater Seattle and Tacoma metropolitan area, including constructing a new station at the nexus of Seattle’s historic Chinatown-International District and Pioneer Square. 3Si and its partner are helping to build the capacity of these neighborhoods to participate in community engagement during light rail expansion and beyond.

3Si conducted an assessment of Chicago's early learning data systems and provided actionable recommendations for improving the use of data to drive decision-making and increase access to and quality of early childhood education.

Thread Alaska wanted to improve its strategic and operational use of data to expand access for Alaskan children and their families to high-quality childcare and early learning.
