Jamie Strausz-Clark worked with Kitsap Public Health and Harrison Medical Center to develop a Community Health Improvement Plan—a long-range, systemic plan to address public health issues in Kitsap County. Jamie developed a framework for the process that organized key decision-makers and stakeholders and clarified their roles in the process. Because roles were transparent from the beginning, participants always knew what was expected of them and their level of influence on decisions.
Over the course of a year, Jamie planned and facilitated a series of meetings that convened leaders and stakeholders from multiple sectors, including education, the Navy, Tribes, business, and historically underrepresented communities.
In between meetings, Jamie worked with staff from Kitsap Public Health to collect, analyze, and distill data on public health conditions in the County and translated them into output that stakeholders could use to identify and prioritize the most urgent issues. Jamie drafted the final Community Health Improvement Plan, which continues to be used and updated to drive public health investments in Kitsap County.
