Treehouse

Treehouse is a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the opportunity gap between youth who have experienced foster care and their peers. The organization relies heavily on data and information to understand the obstacles that youth in foster care face and evaluate Treehouse’s impact on addressing those obstacles.

The organization had ambitious growth plans but needed help with how it acquired, cleaned, analyzed, and reported program data for performance management and donor communication. Treehouse leadership also recognized aspects of the organizational structure needed to change to continue using and making meaning of program performance metrics.

3Si recommended improvements to Treehouse’s data analytics platform. In addition, 3Si conducted an organizational assessment and recommended changes to staff structures and internal policies and processes to maximize Treehouse’s use of data to make decisions and achieve its growth goals.

Separate from this project, Jamie Strausz-Clark co-facilitated a collective impact initiative that convened nonprofit and government agencies to improve the education outcomes of children involved in the child welfare system or experiencing homelessness. Jamie and her facilitation partner led participants through the process of clarifying their goals, objectives, and strategies for working together more effectively to improve education outcomes. The result was a successful and ongoing partnership between the participating organizations that sustains well beyond the initial collective impact work. Jamie continues to facilitate the collective impact work as they implement their plan.
