A large pink cloud looming over a blue sky

Doesn’t matter which cloud- cloud tech is a game-changer for ECIDS

In the world of data science and analytics, cloud-based services have been a game-changer. The cloud enables organizations to access large amounts of data and computing resources on a pay-as-you-go basis. Cloud computing offers a range of advantages, including cost savings, scalability, flexibility, and easy collaboration. However, the choice of cloud provider has always been a significant concern for organizations. This is where 3Si’s cloud-agnostic approach comes into the picture. In this blog, we’ll look at why 3Si is cloud-agnostic and why this stance is beneficial to states implementing ECIDS.

3Si is cloud agnostic, choosing to work within any of the three major cloud service providers: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud. This means that 3Si can stand up the Child Universal Success Platform (CUSP) (a cloud-based platform for data analysis) efficiently in any of the three environments. By doing so, we help state agencies avoid vendor lock-in, and have the flexibility to choose the best cloud service provider that suits their needs.

At 3Si, the team leverages a cloud-based platform called Databricks , a first-party service in Microsoft Azure’s cloud which is also available in other cloud environments.  The platform serves as a unified analytical tool set, allowing teams to manipulate, query, process, and analyze data in the form of notebooks. Having these functions consolidated in a single platform makes it easier to share data and outputs, supports multiple programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, Spark, and facilitates collaboration on code development through GitHub integration.

3Si’s cloud agnosticism  empowers state agencies by enabling them to take advantage of cloud computing while avoiding vendor lock-in. It means that they can choose the best cloud service provider suited to their goals and access the latest tools and capabilities in the industry. By leveraging Databricks on a cloud agnostic platform, state agencies can analyze, manipulate, and process data with ease.
